Comfort on its Knees is the debut album by Groningen-based folk project In Good Spirit. Formed at the Minerva Art Academy, the band brings together five musicians from five different countries, creating a dark and feverish take on contemporary folk.

Led by two distinctly different voices that effortlessly blend together, the album was recorded live to preserve the rawness and personality of the band’s performances. Rather than chasing perfection, Comfort on its Knees puts expression, intimacy and honesty at the centre.

Across nine tracks, including Brother Please, Oh Why, Garden Growth and Stationary Things, the record moves between delicate, intimate moments and expansive alternative folk.
