TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

We are De Nieuwe Markt. In Dutch, that translates roughly as “the new market”: a place where what hangs on the wall matters just as much as what you wear on a Friday night.

We bring together new and pre-loved clothing, art, books and objects. Some are made nearby, others found further afield. Everything is here because it caught our eye.

WE BELIEVE IN SEARCHING

In finding what you weren’t looking for. In racks that don’t quite make sense, and outfits that somehow do. In work by independent artists and makers, alongside pieces that deserve another round.

We like beautiful things. Beauty is, of all things, in the eye of the beholder, but you get what we mean.

NOTHING FIXED, EVERYTHING UNFOLDING

We’re a little “what is even going on here?”, and we believe that’s our strength. The collection changes, the walls move and new people turn up.

You don’t come here just to buy. You come here to wander, to hesitate, to hold something and think: this feels like me today.
